Throughout the history of The Crowded House, we’ve written congregational songs in response to the truths we enjoy. For a long time, we have wanted to make them available to a wider audience, to pass on songs which have blessed us.
Our vision didn’t come from some kind of sociological analysis, or a rejection of more traditional ways of doing church. Our vision is an attempt to take seriously what we’ve been seeing in the Bible story. It’s this big picture of the Bible story that drives our understanding of community.
Ben and Jodie became christians in a couple of years ago. Before they met people from The Crowded House they had no inclination to think about God or consider if there was more to life than finding comfort in a good job, tidy home and nice family. Listen to their story…

Welcome to our new website and blog!
Our hope is that this website will better enable you to connect the various gatherings that happen each Sunday through The Crowded House.
All the information from the old website is now on the new website. All Information is now organised according to our gathering locations, so please Boroughbridge, Sheffield or Loughborough to find out when we meet and what we do.

- In France there are over 250 towns of over 10,000 people which have no gospel-preaching church at all
- In some ‘départements’ in France (= UK counties) there are only 2 evangelical churches of any description.
- Of the 36,664 local communities in France, approximately 34,500 have no resident evangelical witness
- In France about 10 million people pay around £20 billion every year for occult consultations: three times the amount paid to their family doctors
- There are over 30,000 registered mediums and spiritual healers in France
